Destruction from the Thompson Fire in Oroville, Calif. This photo was taken off Bessie Drive on Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024. The fire ignited off Cherokee Road and Thompson Flat Cemetery Road in Oroville on Tuesday morning, July 2. By the end of the day, the fire grew to over 2,000 acres and forced multiple evacuation orders and warnings. As of Wednesday morning, the fire remains 0% contained after burning 3,500 acres.
