CBS2 asks Caldwell "What local issues matter most to you this election season?"
CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS2) — CBS2 Anchor Scott McLinden has been spending time each week in a different city giving residents the chance to voice what local issues concern them the most ahead of this election season.
This week Scott was in Caldwell at the Indian Creek Plaza. While there didn't seem to be any consensus on what issues residents there are most concerned about, safety, community, and prices seemed to be the major throughlines for all of the conversations.
As inflation and cost of living prices remain high across the country, residents in Caldwell voiced their concerns that prices don't seem to be coming down, and certainly not fast enough.
Traffic congestion was also a common issue. The high number of road projects all concentrated near the freeway combined with back-to-school traffic is definitely having an impact on commutes.
One man who spoke with Scott was in town looking at property. Friends of his recently moved from out of state and have told him how much they love Caldwell. He says he is drawn to the area because Caldwell isn't overcrowded, the people are friendly, and the community feels safe and quiet as a good place to retire.
Scott will be coming to every City in the area ahead of the elections this year. Next week he will be in Meridian, again asking what local issues are you most concerned about right now.
